Frequently Asked Questions

What is EZPlayer?

EZPlayer runs pixel light shows. It schedules and plays sequences created with xLights or purchased from EZRGB, and sends the pixel data to your controllers. See What is EZPlayer for the longer version.

How do I get EZPlayer?

Download it from EZRGB, or get source and binary releases from GitHub. EZPlayer runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux (x64 and Raspberry Pi).

How do I learn more about the features?

It's free, so the fastest way is to download it and try it. This manual covers everything from first run to advanced scheduling, and the README has a short overview.

How do I control my show remotely?

Sign up for a free account at EZRGB.com and register your player. A URL for your player then appears under the EZPlayer section of your account.

You can also control EZPlayer over your home network without a cloud account using the local web interface.

Where do I get sequences?

EZRGB, xlights.info, Sequence Scout, and anywhere else fine sequences are sold. See Getting sequences for loading purchased sequences through the cloud.

Do I need to use EZRGB?

No. EZPlayer runs completely stand-alone, similar to xSchedule or FPP. The cloud features are optional; see Privacy for what is and isn't shared.
